Bibhitaki

Terminalia bellirica

The third fruit of triphala, traditionally associated with the respiratory tract as well as digestion.

Also known as: Baheda, Belleric myrobalan, बिभीतकी

Traditional use

Used in classical formulations for kapha-related complaints, including respiratory ones, and as part of triphala. Less prominent individually than haritaki or amalaki.

Why brands use it

Essentially a formulation ingredient rather than a consumer product. There is very little standalone search demand, and we would not advise a dedicated SKU.

Quality and specification

Fruit material, de-seeded. Often the fruit whose proportion is quietly reduced in cheap triphala.

Safety and cautions

Well tolerated within triphala. Limited standalone safety data; practitioner advice is sensible for prolonged single-herb use.

Questions we actually get

Before you ask us

Why does this matter if nobody buys it alone?

Because it is the fruit most often under-dosed in commercial triphala. If a supplier will not confirm a 1:1:1 ratio, this is usually where the shortfall is.

Your idea, made tangible

Tell us the format and the volume. We will come back with a specification, a per-unit cost and a realistic first-batch date.
