Certifications & Licences

Which licences a contract manufacturer should hold, what each one actually covers, and what to ask us for before you place an order.

Certification in this industry is frequently overstated. A logo on a website means very little without a licence number you can verify and a scope that covers the product you are buying. This page sets out what we hold, what each certification actually governs, and, just as usefully, what the common claims in this industry do not mean.

What we hold

Manufacturing licence number: REPLACE_MFG_LICENCE. FSSAI licence number: REPLACE_FSSAI_LICENCE. GMP certification: REPLACE_GMP_CERT_DETAIL. ISO certification: REPLACE_ISO_CERT_DETAIL. AYUSH licence where applicable: REPLACE_AYUSH_LICENCE.

Ask us for copies of all of these before you place a first order, and check that the scope covers your product category and format. A GMP certificate that covers tablets does not automatically cover liquids or cosmetics, and a buyer who does not check will discover that later.

What each certification actually means

GMP, Good Manufacturing Practice, governs how the plant operates: documented procedures, controlled conditions, batch records, trained staff and traceability. It is about process control, not about whether a specific product works. FSSAI licensing governs the manufacture and sale of food products including supplements, and sets labelling and compositional requirements.

An AYUSH or state drug licence covers Ayurvedic medicines and proprietary Ayurvedic formulations, which is a different regulatory route from food supplements with different label rules. ISO certification covers management systems rather than product safety specifically.

What certification does not mean

It does not mean a product is proven effective. It does not mean a health claim on your label is permitted. It does not mean every ingredient is permitted in your destination market. And it does not transfer to you, your own FSSAI licence and product approvals remain your responsibility as brand owner.

We say this because "GMP certified" is used in this industry as though it settles every question. It settles how we manufacture. It settles nothing about what your label may claim.

Questions we actually get

Before you ask us

Can we use your certifications in our marketing?

You may state that your products are manufactured at a GMP-certified, FSSAI-licensed facility, which is accurate. You may not present our certifications as your own, and you still need your own licence.

Do you have organic certification?

For specific raw materials through certified growers, yes, at a premium and a longer lead time. It is material-specific rather than a blanket plant certification.

Are you audited?

Yes, by certifying bodies and by client auditors. We welcome client audits and factory visits, see audits and factory visits.

Your idea, made tangible

Tell us what you want to launch

Send us the format, the wellness goal and roughly the volume you have in mind. We will come back with a specification sheet, a per-unit cost and a realistic first-batch date, not a brochure.

NutraHerbal manufactures food supplements, Ayurvedic proprietary medicines and cosmetics for business customers. Product information on this site describes composition, format and commercial positioning for brand owners. It is not medical advice, does not claim to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and is not a substitute for consulting a qualified practitioner. Final label claims are the brand owner's responsibility and must be approved for the destination market.
