Vasaka

Adhatoda vasica

The principal classical respiratory herb, and the signal ingredient in any shwas-kasa formulation.

Also known as: Vasa, Malabar nut, वासक

Traditional use

Leaf used in classical formulations for cough and breathing difficulty. The leading respiratory herb of the tradition.

Why brands use it

Air quality in North India has turned respiratory wellness from a winter concern into a near year-round one, particularly in Delhi NCR. Demand climbs steeply from late October, which makes the ordering window unusually unforgiving.

Quality and specification

Leaf material. Vasicine content is sometimes used as a marker.

Safety and cautions

Generally well tolerated. Not advised in pregnancy. Anyone with asthma must continue prescribed treatment, a wellness product must never be positioned as a substitute for an inhaler.

Questions we actually get

Before you ask us

When should respiratory stock be ordered?

Landed by early October. A November order sells into January and misses most of the peak.

Formulating with Vasaka?

Tell us the format and the volume. We will come back with a specification, a per-unit cost and a realistic first-batch date.
