Khus
Vetiveria zizanioides
The classical cooling root.
200 ml, cooling oil with brahmi, khus and mint
A cooling hair oil for Indian summers, brahmi, khus and mint, sold for sleep and head comfort as much as for hair.

Cooling oils are their own category in India, bought less for hair than for the sensation: relief from heat, a cooler head, better sleep. That makes the use case completely different from a hair-fall oil, and it gives you a sharply seasonal summer product with an easy-to-explain benefit.
Vetiveria zizanioides
The classical cooling root.
Bacopa monnieri
Traditionally used for head and scalp cooling.
Mentha arvensis
Provides the immediate cooling sensation.
Emblica officinalis
Classical hair and scalp herb.
Written for a brand owner deciding what to manufacture, not as consumer marketing copy, and without health claims we cannot stand behind.
Cooling is instantly perceptible, which makes this one of the few products in the catalogue whose value a customer experiences within seconds of first use.
Many customers use cooling oil for head comfort and better sleep in hot weather. That broadens the audience well beyond hair-care buyers.
Demand climbs from March, peaks in May and June, and fades with the monsoon. Stock should be landed by late February.
Cooling oils sell well through kirana and general trade, which is a channel most supplement SKUs cannot access at all.

Our read of this category from manufacturing for it. Price bands and volumes are indicative planning ranges for your own costing, not audited market data, and not a quotation.
Large and sharply seasonal, concentrated from March through June.
Moderate search volume; this is largely a shelf and habit purchase. Hindi queries lead ("sir thanda rakhne ka tel").
Broad, 25–60, across all income levels. Strong in northern and central India where summers are most severe.
Indicative retail positioning sits in the ₹150–₹400 band for 200 ml. Treat as a planning range.
Two or three legacy brands own this category with enormous distribution. Compete regionally and online rather than nationally on shelf.
Landed by late February. Demand starts in March and the season is largely finished by July.
Comfort and relaxation framing is fine. A claim to treat insomnia would be medicinal, and is unnecessary, customers already understand the proposition.
Enough to be clearly felt without stinging. We will send samples at two or three levels, because this is genuinely a matter of taste and regional preference.
