Arjuna

Terminalia arjuna

The heart herb in Ayurveda, recognised immediately by older Indian customers.

Also known as: Arjun, अर्जुन

Traditional use

Bark used in classical formulations for the heart. The most consistently used cardiac herb in the Ayurvedic tradition.

Why brands use it

Leading a heart product with arjuna means the label is understood at a glance by the customer most likely to buy it. Hindi queries such as "arjun chhal ke fayde" are larger and less contested than their English equivalents.

Quality and specification

Bark material. Adulteration with other Terminalia species occurs, so identity testing matters.

Safety and cautions

Generally well tolerated. Anyone on cardiac medication must consult their physician, and that instruction belongs prominently on the label rather than buried.

Questions we actually get

Before you ask us

Can the label mention the heart?

Cardiac wellness and traditional use, yes. Claims about blood pressure, cholesterol or cardiac treatment are medicinal.

Your idea, made tangible
